PLAY, LAY, AYE: Act 3 invites viewers into a two-hour durational improvisation, where movement and sound are in constant dialogue, creating a living, breathing performance that transforms the space into an immersive experience. In this act, Sydney Rabin’s fluid movement and Batrypowr’s dynamic soundscapes intertwine, forming a sonic and physical conversation that evolves in real-time.
Sydney weaves in and out of the installation, her body moving through the structure, which has transformed into a series of small, interconnected rooms. Some spaces are enclosed, with windows offering glimpses of the outside world; others are open, evoking a sense of both confinement and release. These rooms, hallways, and passages blur the line between interior and exterior, creating a physical and emotional journey of transitions and thresholds. As Sydney moves, the installation shifts, becoming both intimate and vast, a playground of dualities—open and closed, visible and hidden, inside and outside.
